OOC: Character Info
History: Whisper was born in the Vale of Skylark, an expansive, but well-protected area that her herd had called home for years. She is the only child of Stormsong and his mate, Lark. Her father was the spiritual leader for the herd, and was often looked to for guidance when it came to what the herd needed to do to remain safe. They had little in the way of enemies - the Naga lived near the sea and the harpies kept to their own desolate lands, and few humans ever dared enter Skylark and face the myriad of creatures that called it home. Skylark was a haven for beasts that most would dub "magical." Centaurs, satyrs, dragons, unicorns, pegasi, and other creatures shared the land, though tending to keep to their own kind more often than not. Trading did exist however, and most creatures weren't directly hostile to one another - and those that were tended to live far and away, enough at least that younglings were safe and those few wanderers who approached were treated with respect.
Whisper was a spoiled child and never really wanted for anything that she needed. Her magic showed great potential, though it tended to take on worrying forms that most of her people had rarely seen before. The power wasn't one of nature, or healing, but something that was both and neither. Chaos magic isn't rare per se, tough it tended to manifest more in those who lived a wanderer's life - something Whisper herself was destined for. While she loved her sire and dam, and really all of her people, she never felt ...comfortable living the solid and steady day-to-day life her herd enjoyed. Farmers, hunters, shamans, healers, warriors, none of these held any interest with her - and stories about life outside Skylark only made her all the more destined to grow up and go away.
Which is precisely what she did upon reaching adulthood. It was custom for the youth of her people to go on a quest of sorts - though most went no farther than the land just bordering their expansive home in the Vale, a few days worth away and then home. Whisper however was not content with this, and promised her family that while she would return with stories - but she had no intention of staying home and remaining restless. She would find someone who could teach her to use the magic that thrummed in her veins.
And this is where she will be pulled from, shortly after leaving the Vale and wandering into the Outlying lands where the two-legged sorts lived. She didn't have to adventure alone - shortly after leaving, she joined up with a mostly-female adventuring party, where she made friends with an elf thief named Nereisse and a satyr bard named Arlia, and the three of them traveled together, enjoying their hearty traveling life.
Personality: Loud and vibrant. Whisper is someone who is the exact opposite of her name. In fact, the only time Whisper is really quiet, is when she's sick or asleep or somehow incapacitated. If you were to ask Whisper, she would tell you that life is pretty much a never-ending gift of surprises. Whisper loves being center spotlight and tends to attract people by her warm, if exuberant nature. She has a lust for life, fine wine, adventure, and cute boys and girls. She's not often content to settle down for more than a few days at a time - adventure beckons and Whisper is driven to follow wherever it may lead her. To her, life is exciting and wonderful and there's magic in everything, AND WE SHOULD ALL ENJOY IT RIGHT THIS MINUTE! With an insatiable curiosity, she's all too willing to try anything if its made to seem exciting and new. Waiting for the good stuff is something that she hates to do. Waiting sucks.
Whisper likes company, preferring this over solitude any day. Of course everyone has their moments where they enjoy being alone, but these are few and far between. She would rather spend hours upon hours chatting with anyone and everyone about various topics - any topics. Sometimes this makes it hard for her to focus on any one thing, and she has been known to natter with someone about everything but the topic that was initially supposed to be the main reason for the conversation.
People are the cornerstone of her interests, no matter what their race is. Life is an opportunity and Whisper is all too eager to get out there and meet people and catch everything thrown her way. When around others, she tries to share this cheer and indeed she's actually quite good at cheering people up, and had a fairly decent bedside manner when she needs one. When she feels good, she wants others to feel the same way, and thus any happiness that is hers is meant to be shared and shared right this minute. Due to her overt friendliness, Whisper tends to make friends wherever she goes, either willingly or over time (by wearing them down). Some of them love her energy, and others just don't want to know what will happen when something finally manages to really upset her. Normally though, she's good at letting things roll off her back unnoticed. Most small spats are easily forgiven and she's often to eager to make her friends happy that she puts them before herself. Singing, laughing, story-telling - Whisper enjoys all of these things, though getting her to sit down and talk might be a task in itself.
Now, despite all of this, she does have a selfish and impatient streak. It's not necessarily intentional though - it's more that she tends to be so caught up in everything that sometimes she makes things about herself when she doesn't need to. There's no malice in this, and if she's caught and has it explained to her, she'd be mortified to learn she had upset someone. It takes a patient hand to simply explain to her that not everyone needs to be happy all of the time and sometimes people just need to be left alone. Still, Whisper can and will admit to her mistakes, and will be the first to say that she can be somewhat hard to handle around those who aren't used to someone like her. Deep down she just wants to be liked and to make friends - to know that for all her warmth and openness, people genuinely like her for her and can put up with her personality quirks.
